Amazfit T-Rex 2 Review

Amazfit T-Rex 2 Review: The Amazfit T-Rex 2 is a smartwatch made for people who love outdoor activities and want a watch to keep track of their adventures without spending too much money.

This new version aims to be even better for outdoor adventures by adding new features like better tracking accuracy using dual-band positioning. It lets you download routes and find your way during hikes, making sure your watch battery lasts for days.

The T-Rex 2 costs much less than other popular watches like Garmin Fenix 7 or Polar Grit X Pro, but it offers similar features. It’s a tough and useful smartwatch for outdoor sports, with cool stuff like navigation and route downloads, all packed in a durable design, and it costs less than the big-name competitors.

Pros and Cons in our Amazfit T-Rex 2 Review

Pros

  • Added navigation and route import functions
  • Good GPS performance
  • More than a week of battery life

Cons

  • The design doesn’t differ much from the previous T-Rex
  • No support for external sensors
  • PAI’s health metrics aren’t very helpful

Design & Display

  • Military Design
  • Works in extreme temperatures
  • Waterproof up to 100 meters

The Amazfit T-Rex is made specifically for outdoor activities, and you can tell by its big and tough design with a strong polymer case and visible screws.

This watch has passed 15 tough tests given by the military to make sure it can handle extreme conditions. It can handle icy conditions, stay okay in very humid places for 240 hours, and work in extreme hot and cold weather.

You can choose between different colors for the case like black (which we tested), green, khaki, and a black and gold design. It comes with a 22mm silicone strap. The main thing you’ll see is a bright 1.39-inch touchscreen that shows vibrant colors and has a high resolution of 454 x 454. You can keep the screen always on if you like. There are also four buttons on the watch which are useful, especially if your hands are wet or cold and it’s hard to use the touchscreen.

On the back of the watch, there’s a sensor called the Amazfit BioTracker 3.0 PPG. It checks your heart rate and how much oxygen is in your blood. You’ll also charge the T-Rex 2 here, and it uses the same way of charging as many other new Amazfit watches.

Talking about size, it’s about 13.65mm thick and weighs 66g. If you compare that to the Garmin Fenix 7, they’re quite similar in weight and thickness.

The T-Rex 2 is okay to wear while swimming in open water or in a pool. It can handle being underwater up to 100 meters deep.

The new T-Rex 2 looks a lot like the older T-Rex watches. They’re big but not uncomfortable to wear, especially when you’re doing activities and tracking things like your workouts.

Health & Fitness

  • Route import and turn-by-turn navigation
  • 150+ sports modes
  • Dual-Band Positioning
  • Supports 5 satellite systems

The T-Rex 2 is great for outdoor activities, but it’s also really good for keeping track of your fitness when you’re indoors. It has lots of different modes for tracking exercises. For example, it counts your reps when you’re doing strength training and can recognize exercises like running on a treadmill or using a rowing machine without you having to tell it.

Its strong suit is in its research abilities. Unlike older T-Rex watches, this one is better at it. It has over 150 different sports modes. With the Zepp app that works with the watch, you can upload routes as GPX files. Then, while you’re outdoors, you can follow simple directions on your watch to get to where you’re going. It’s not fancy maps, but it shows you a line to follow, which is simple but effective.

On top of this, the T-Rex 2 has something called dual-band positioning. This helps the watch track your location more accurately, especially in places with lots of trees or tall buildings that might block the signal from satellites. This feature is really good for getting a better location when it’s hard for the watch to connect to satellites.

When you’re not out doing outdoor activities, the T-Rex 2 still does a decent job. It’s good at tracking things like indoor pool swimming and rowing, but it might not be as accurate for open water swimming or on a treadmill.

Tracking your heart rate isn’t the best, especially during intense workouts or for getting average heart rate readings. It can check your blood oxygen levels and let you know if they’re too high or low, but it’s not meant for in-depth health analysis.

This watch can also keep track of your steps, sleep, and stress levels. Amazfit talks about its PAI health scores as a way to reward you for exercising and keeping your heart rate up, but some people might not find it that motivating.

Amazfit has added features for analyzing your workouts and recovery based on your training history and things like heart rate. It gives you info about your training load, how effective your training is, estimates your maximum VO2, and recommends how long you should rest after a workout. It’s good to use these suggestions as guidance rather than exact measures of how fit you are. They can help you make better choices about your workouts.

Smartwatch Features

  • ZeppOS with support for third-party applications
  • Notifications for iOS and Android
  • Weather forecast

The T-Rex 2 may seem tough and durable, but it works like a regular smartwatch. It works with both Android phones and iPhones, giving you standard features like notifications that you can reply to, different watch faces to choose from, and the ability to check your calendar and the weather.

This watch uses the Amazfit ZeppOS platform, which has its app store. It’s not as big as the Apple app store or the one for Wear OS, but it has a few apps like GoPro and one that shows Google Maps directions on your watch.

However, it doesn’t have some features that other Amazfit smartwatches do. For instance, you can’t use it for payments, it doesn’t have a smart assistant of its own, like Amazon Alexa, and there’s no built-in music player.

Overall, the T-Rex 2 is good for doing simple tasks like checking the weather or quickly responding to messages that pop up on the screen.

Battery life

  • Up to 24 days of battery life
  • 26 hours of battery life in high-precision GPS mode
  • Up to 58 hours in power-saving GPS mode

The T-Rex 2 is built to keep up with your outdoor adventures, and its battery life is up to the task.

According to Amazfit, with regular use, the T-Rex 2 can last up to 24 days on a single charge. However, if you use features like continuous heart rate monitoring and GPS tracking a lot, the battery life reduces to around 10 days. Using the GPS frequently and keeping the screen on will also affect how long the battery lasts.

The watch has different GPS accuracy modes that impact battery life. In the most accurate mode, you’ll get about 26 hours, while switching to GPS Power Saving Mode extends that to about 58 hours. Amazfit even provides estimates for GPS battery life in extremely cold temperatures.

In real-world testing, the T-Rex 2’s battery life was slightly lower than the claimed figures but still very good overall. It’s a reliable watch that can last more than a week on a single charge, and it manages GPS battery performance well. If you’re looking for consistent day-to-day performance and good GPS battery life, the T-Rex 2 is a solid choice.

Conclusion

The Amazfit T-Rex 2 is a budget-friendly smartwatch designed for outdoor sports. It’s built tough, making it durable and able to endure rough conditions, making it a reliable companion for adventures.

While it might not be the absolute top-tier outdoor watch available, considering its price, it offers fantastic value. Compared to earlier T-Rex models, this one stands out as a significant improvement, making it one of the better options for outdoor use within its price range.

How to Clear the RAM on iPhone in seconds

A Quick Guide on How to Clear RAM on iPhone in Seconds :

For iPhone users, ensuring optimal performance is paramount to a seamless user experience. One effective way to achieve this is by freeing up space in the Random Access Memory (RAM), where the device temporarily stores data needed for running applications.

When the RAM is cluttered, your iPhone may experience sluggishness, longer loading times, and even unexpected app closures. In this guide, we’ll explore the simple yet powerful method of clearing RAM on your iPhone to enhance its performance in just a few seconds.

Understanding the Importance of Clearing RAM:

Random Access Memory (RAM) is a crucial component that allows your iPhone to quickly access and process data required by active applications. As you use various apps throughout the day, RAM gradually fills up. When it reaches capacity, your device may start to slow down as it struggles to access the necessary data.

Clearing RAM is akin to providing a breath of fresh air to your iPhone, ensuring it can efficiently handle new tasks, resulting in improved speed and responsiveness.

Quick Reset for Different iPhone Models:

The easiest and most effective way to clear RAM on an iPhone involves performing a quick reset. The method varies slightly depending on the type of iPhone model you own. Follow these steps:

For iPhone Models with Face ID (iPhone X and newer):

  • Press and hold the volume down button and the side button simultaneously.
  • When the power off slider appears, drag it to the right to turn off your iPhone.
  • Wait approximately 30 seconds and then turn the device back on.

Battery and Storage Check:

If your iPhone continues to exhibit slow performance, it may be time to check the battery health or free up additional storage space. Contact Apple support for further assistance.

Conclusion:

In just a matter of seconds, you can breathe new life into your iPhone by clearing its RAM. The quick reset method, coupled with proactive measures like closing unused apps and managing notifications, ensures that your device runs smoothly and efficiently.

By understanding the importance of RAM and regularly optimizing its usage, you can enjoy a responsive and high-performing iPhone. Incorporate these simple steps into your routine, and experience the difference in speed and responsiveness on your beloved device.

The convenience of automatically connecting to WiFi at home adds a touch of comfort to our daily lives. Sharing this access with friends and guests is a hospitable gesture, making you the ultimate host.

However, it becomes a challenge when you want to connect someone to your WiFi, and either you don’t know the password or it’s too complex to remember. Fear not – sharing WiFi on iPhone to iPhone is a breeze, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Requirements for WiFi Sharing:

Before delving into the steps, let’s go through the essential requirements to seamlessly share WiFi between iPhones:

Both iPhones Need iOS 16 or iOS 17:

When your friend needs to connect, show them the QR code on your iPhone. Regardless of their phone type, they can use their camera to scan the QR code. This automatically recognizes the WiFi credentials and connects them without manual password input.

Conclusion:

How to Improve iPhone Battery Life with iOS 17

How to Improve iPhone Battery Life :

One of the common grievances among iPhone users revolves around the device’s battery life. Many users find that their iPhones don’t hold a charge as well as other high-end smartphones. While the capacity of the phone’s components may contribute to this issue, there are adjustments and tricks within the iPhone settings that can help extend battery life.

In this detailed guide, we will explore various strategies for improving iPhone battery life, specifically focusing on iOS 17.

Optimizing Screen Features:

One of the prominent features impacting battery life is the always-on screen, particularly on newer devices. To address this, users can disable the always-on screen feature by navigating to Settings, selecting ‘Display and Brightness,’ and deactivating it.

This adjustment can significantly reduce battery drainage, especially for those who don’t find this feature essential.

Managing Screen Brightness:

Another factor affecting battery life is screen brightness. Excessive brightness can lead to faster battery depletion. To address this, ensure that the iPhone’s automatic screen brightness adjustment feature is activated. Users can access this setting by going to ‘Settings,’ selecting ‘Display and Brightness,’ and enabling the ‘Auto-Brightness’ option.

By allowing the phone to adjust brightness based on ambient lighting conditions, users can extend battery life considerably.

Addressing Haptic Feedback:

The haptic feedback of the keyboard, also known as the haptic keyboard, can contribute to unnecessary energy consumption. To conserve energy, users can disable this feature by accessing the iPhone settings. Navigate to ‘Settings,’ choose ‘Sounds and Vibrations,’ then proceed to ‘Keyboard Feedback.’ Here, users can disable the ‘Vibration’ option, minimizing the battery impact of haptic feedback.

Ensuring that the iPhone is running the latest iOS version is crucial for optimal battery performance. Apple frequently releases updates that include bug fixes and optimizations. Additionally, keeping apps updated can address potential performance issues that may impact battery life. Users can check for updates in ‘Settings’ under the ‘General’ section.

Manage Widgets:

Widgets on the iPhone’s home screen can provide quick access to information but may consume unnecessary power if not managed efficiently. Users can customize and remove widgets by entering ‘Edit Home Screen’ mode. Removing widgets that are not frequently used can contribute to improved battery efficiency.
